Fandom Needle Felting is a panel to teach the basics of needle felting by using a barbed needle to turn roving (wool fibers) into a unique picture made of felt. Rating: G, but kids under 10 must be supervised by an adult.
This is an informal meetup and a helpful-supply show-and-tell, in Creation Station's accessible suite with an accessible restroom, during neurodivergent-friendly, sensory-friendly, mostly quiet time. Come relax with each other, share survival tips for enduring how hard it can be to navigate conventions when you, your kids, your companions may have visible and/or hidden disabilities. Share suggestions as to how events can improve accessibility, inclusivity, comfort, safety, empowerment, and fun. Rating: G
Learn tactics to prevent the accidental suffering and death of your fellow congoers! Discuss with us how to keep your peers with scent and food allergies alive, be considerate around people with mental or physical disabilities, and otherwise be sensitive to those at risk.
For this hour Creation Station will offer art supplies, low lighting, and quiet background music to allow attendees to work on character sketches, dice bags, dice boxes, or any other craft they would like additional time on.
Now that Archive of Our Own, and all the fanworks within, won a Hugo, it is time to step up our game. Share tips and tricks on how to write, and how to beta (feedback for others). Learn common considerations, including pacing, canon vs. fanon, grammar, character and plot development, and building a fanfic community. All ages and levels of experience, and all genres and fandoms, are welcome. Readings must be PG.
